Intercultural Communication essentially means communication across different  cultural boundaries. Intercultural Communication can be defined as the sharing of information on different levels of awareness between people with different cultural backgrounds. There are many different intercultural communication types and theories.

Social Science Approach:

It focuses on observing the behavior of a person from a different culture in order to describe and compare it with other cultures.

Interpretive Approach:

This focuses on accumulating knowledge about a culture through communication in the form of shared stories based on subjective, individual experiences.

Effective  communication is an essential skill for humans to learn as it’s for the betterment of correlating with others and engaging in conversations with people. It’s also crucial for anyone working with people from other cultures to avoid misunderstandings and even offence. Intercultural Communication helps in the workplace especially because it helps make the environment comfortable for working and eliminates the likelihood of conflicts to arise in the workplace.
